F. Arturo Sosa is a Venezuelan Catholic priest. On 14 October 2016, he was elected Father General of the Society of Jesus. He has a long history of dedication to teaching and research. He has held various positions and functions in the university environment.

Community: awareness, potential and challenges

Of Colombian nationality, she lives in Bogotá. She has been working at Fe y Alegría Colombia for 14 years. She has a degree in Education for Children with emphasis on Integration in Regular Environments. She believes in the power of education and social promotion as an ethical, political, paedagogical and epistemological commitment to the transformation, in particular, of people and groups whose rights are violated.

The role of women in society and the Church

She has a degree in Philosophy and Arts from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (1979) and a doctorate in Sacred Scripture from the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome. She is considered a world authority on the study of the Old Testament Books of Wisdom. Pope Benedict XVI appointed her as an expert for the 12th General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops on the Word of God (2008). And in 2014 Pope Francis appointed her to the Pontifical Biblical Commission.

KATRINE CAMILLERI

Director of Jesuit Refugee Service, Malta
Migration: problems and opportunities

Lawyer and director of the Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) in Malta. Recognised for her work for refugees, she received the Nansen Refugee Award in 2007. In 1996, she began working as a volunteer, part-time initially and eventually full-time. JRS became the first organisation to offer professional legal services to detainees in Malta on a regular basis.

Expert in art and theology
Antonio Gaudi and the Sagrada Familia

Swiss from a Spanish family. He lives in Italy. Coordinator of the group “Pietre Vive” at the “Pontificia Facoltà Teologica d’Italia Meridionale”, professor at the “Scuola di Alta Formazione di Arte e Teologia” in Naples and at the Gregorian University in Rome. He is a world expert on the work of Antoni Gaudi and author of the book “The Word in stone, the symbols and the spirit of the Sagrada Familia”.

Professor at Sanata Dharma University

Technology to serve people

Profesor of Religious and Cultural Studies Jesuit priest from Indonesia, works as a lecturer in the Graduate Programme of Religious and Cultural Studies, Sanata Dharma University in Yogyakarta. He holds a PhD in development studies from Oxford University. His main research interests are in labor movements, migrant workers, grassroots politics and the informal economy.

Born in New York City, Lowney attended Regis High School,[2] a Jesuit institution in Manhattan, and then entered a Jesuit seminary. He completed a B.A. in History and an M.A. in Philosophy at Fordham University. Worked at JP Morgan from 1983 to 2001. as an investment banker to Fortune 1000 companies and, later, a managing director in: Tokyo, Singapore and London. Author of six books and co-author two. Global expert in leadership, decision-making, and business ethics.

IGNASI MARTÍ

Social innovation

Ignasi is a professor in the Department of Social Sciences and Director of the Institute for Social Innovation. He has been a visiting professor at ESADE since 2016 and before that he was professor and head of the Department of Strategy and Organisation at Lyon Business School (France). Ignasi holds a degree in Philosophy and Economics from the University of Barcelona and a PhD from IESE Business School. He was a visiting researcher at Saïd Business School of the University of Oxford.

The mission of education in a changing environment

International Secretary of Education of the Society of Jesus (secondary and pre-secondary), based in Rome, and responsible for the development and coordination of the global network of Jesuit schools. José Alberto is also a guest professor at Loyola University (Chicago), in the areas of Educational Philosophy and Ignatian Paedagogy.

MARY EVELYN TUCKER

Profesora Yale University
Care for our Common Home: The Growing Alliance of Religion and Ecology

Senior Lecturer and Research Scholar at Yale University where she has appointments in the School of Forestry and Environmental Studies as well as the Divinity. She teaches in the joint MA program in religion and ecology and directs the Forum on Religion and Ecology at Yale with her husband, John Grim. Grim and Tucker have written a number of books, including Ecology and Religion.

Spanish Jesuit, Computer Science Engineer (University of Valladolid), Licentiate in Moral Social Theology (Boston College) and Global Executive MBA by Georgetown University and ESADE. He has post-graduate degrees in Humanitarian Aid (Fordham University) and Leadership, Innovation and NGO Management (ESADE). His main areas of specialization are networks, digital communications, international development and education. Since 2008 he has worked at Entreculturas – Fe y Alegría Spain. Since January 2018 he is Executive Vice President of Entreculturas and Alboan, and responsible for the International Development of the Society of Jesus in Spain.
